Moderate 5.1 quake strikes Mojave Desert east of L.A on Friday night along the Lavic Lake Fault, about 120 miles east of Los Angeles. The moderate quake occurred at 8:18 p.m. near Ludlow, in San Bernardino County,  east of Barstow, & could be felt from Los Angeles to San Diego. This quake was just a few miles away from where the 7.1 magnitude Hector Mine quake hit in 1999.
