Task Manager has been disabled by your administrator
If you try to open Task Manager, and the following error may occur:
Task Manager has been disabled by your administrator
to enable Task Manager , click START -> RUN and type this command exactly :
REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableTaskMgr /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
If this restriction was enabled in your system without your action, then a Virus has blocked the usage of Task Manager in your system by enabling the DisableTaskMgr value from registry.

do not connect PC to internet untill antivirus is installed (remove LAN cable from PC). For windows xp use SP3.
In my case, Task Manager, Registry, & Folder Options are disabled. wscript.exe & auto.vbs runs in the background whenever i check it using msconfig. I’ve had this freaking problem 3-4 times already. I have updated AV & AS softwares but still i get infected. So frustrating.
I’ve done a lot of research tried a lot of so-called solutions but it all ends up to reformatting my PC as a solution. I can’t afford to reformat my PC every time it gets infected.
Just want the experts out there to share their information. What kind of virus/trojan/worm/spyware is this? What’s the real solution?
I tried that:- do not do this.
I even ran Delphi and adjusted the Registry only to note the worm reinstalled its settings, so I still could not access my task manger with the administrator message still coming up and it started attacking *.exe files that were running at the time and killing windows.
I’m looking for third party programs that do the same as task manager.
I advise not to touch the registry but seek a windows task manager substitute!!!!!!!!!
The windows task manager needs a rewrite that the registry setting only aplys to non administrator accounts.
