Vulnerabilities in Windows TCP/IP Could Allow Remote Code Execution (941644)

This critical security update resolves two privately reported vulnerabilities in Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) processing. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could take complete control of an affected system. An attacker could then install programs; view, change, or delete data; or create new accounts with full user rights.

Impact of Vulnerability – Remote Code Execution

Microsoft has released the usual update for the Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool and the Windows Mail Definition Update (x86) (x64). Microsoft has also released a protection update for the Windows Vista Sidebar as well as the first prerequisite update for Vista SP1 for Ultimate/Enterprise users.

KB941644 is a pain. It did paralize the internet access through the WIN 2k based proxy server in my intranet . What I did was to simply uninstall it fro´m the control panel ‘add/remove programs’ . After uninstallation, everything is now back to normal.

    KB941644
seems to create problems on some systems (lots of post since it came out 6 days ago)
On a friends machine it effectivelly killed ipconfig, windows firewall, and basically made internet access unusable.
