Era imposibil ca Vista sa nu aiba lacunele lui. Dupa ce au muncit atatia ani la el tot nu e finalizat si nici nu e pe placul multora. Cel putin mie nu’mi place… mai ales petru ca ma forteaza sa investesc in hardware: pentru ce ?

Nu am vazut nimic deosebit care sa’mi dubleze munca mea. Nu am observat nici un beneficiu major care sa ma determine sa investesc in partea hardware: video si ram. Pentru mine Vista este inca departe de a fi folosit pe scara larga in mod optim. Daca a’si instala Vista pe PCul meu cu 512 RAM nu a’si face altceva decat sa pierd timp pretios asteptand executarea aplicatiilor, lansarea anumitor functi/servicii, raspunderea cu 1000 de clickuri pe zi ca sunt sau nu de acord cu o actiune a mea, raspunsul mai lent al graficii, etc…

Plus ca Vista este inca in faza incipienta, o sa aspet cel putin pana la Vista SP1.

SEATTLE – Microsoft Corp. said Wednesday it will release a major package of updates and fixes for the Windows Vista operating system in the first half of 2008.

The company said a “beta” test version of Service Pack 1 will be released “in a few weeks to a moderate sized audience.” The SP1 beta includes updates Microsoft has already made to the operating system it started selling to consumers at the end of January.

The service pack fixes some common problems that cause computers to crash or freeze, Microsoft said, including compatibility problems with some newer graphics cards, external monitors and printer drivers. Microsoft said it also fixed some problems users had with putting their PCs to sleep and waking them up again.

The company said SP1 is also expected to improve battery performance, increase the speed of copying files and help Internet Explorer run faster on Vista.

The Redmond, Wash.-based software maker said SP1 also brings several security improvements.
